I would be ...Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
I would be seriously interested in knowing more about the north african populations of tagis (and pechi) as I have an on going study on the whole species and would be very much interested if you could contact me by email (eduardo.marabuto@gmail.com).
I am aware of some records from the Algarve indeed but i seriously doubt they are real. What happens most of the times is that this species is mistaken for small specimens of crameri. The hills of Monchique are not limestone and the foodplant, albeit present is really scarce. However, there are other places in the Algarve which could harbour the species...
Best wishes!Eduardo Marabutohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13857926916372314210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6831969363462261509.post-90271056663023135152011-03-11T11:32:23.995+00:002011-03-11T11:32:23.995+00:00Thanks Mr. Marabuto,
I have been studying Euchloe ...Thanks Mr. Marabuto,
I have been studying Euchloe tagis in North Africa (ssp.reisseri, ssp.atlasica, E.pechi). I'm pleased to find ongoing studies on that beautiful, elusive insect.
Hopefully in the near future I can visit Portugal to see some Lusitanian populations. I always was too late for them on my way to North Africa.

By the way: there are records of E.tagis from the Algarve (Serra Monchique). I once copied a paper by an Englishman, who saw them "plentiful" in the Monchique hills. I will send you te citation later (I have to dig it out from my bulk of papers)

Have a nice insect season!Bou Fartettuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05175142368799072210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6831969363462261509.post-58551600668429735392011-03-08T17:31:55.312+00:002011-03-08T17:31:55.312+00:00Post muito bom!
